I have designed complete systems and applications based on requirements and customer specifications or feedback and based on many years of experience and product knowledge. Provided Unix and web hosting administration and programming services to client Harcourt Inc.. Solutions include supporting Solaris and Linux web servers using Apache and Netscape I-Planet web server software, implementing OpenSSH and enterprise monitoring using tools such as: Nagios, Perl and UCD-SNMP. Also assisted with E-Commerce conversion from Transact 4 to Microsoft .NET as well as internally created Java applications. Wrote several Perl scripts to assist in that conversion. Also implemented and support Cisco 11500 Content Services Switch.

2001 - 2002 Senior Systems Administrator, Mead-Westvaco Corporation, Laurel, MD

Provide highly available support for fifty AIX servers from deskside to H/M80 class servers in a 24 x 7 ISO 9002 certified corporate technical center environment. Solutions I have provided include correcting problems in the corporate website order taking process (Perl coding), making recommendations and enhancing security in corporate website, assisting in troubleshooting SAP R/3 disconnect issues, assist in troubleshooting IBM SecureWay Firewall software issues, bringing system software levels up to current fix revisions (AIX 4.3.3) and am currently working on enhancing the monitoring and notification infrastructures using tools like Netsaint, various GNU and Open Source SNMP and monitoring tools as well as in-house written Perl and shell scripts. Support duties include AIX, HACMP, IBM HTTPServer (Apache), IBM SecureWay Firewall, SAP R3, DB2 and DB2 Connect, ESCON Connection, Tivoli Storage Manager Client (ADSM), WebSphere, DNS and Sendmail.
